A Barbie look of Tina Turner on 40th anniversary of song “Just what is Love Got To Do With It”

Grammy-award winner, has adopted a look of a Barbie doll on the 40th anniversary of Tina Turner’s popular song Just what is Love Got To Do With It is being celebrated by Mattel, the toy maker.

With a Barbie doll made in her image, she revealed the look on social networking sites catching the limelight of the fans.

The doll, which is a member of the Barbie Signature Music Series, is dressed in an ensemble modeled by the song’s music video, including a black mini-dress, a denim shirt, and her distinctive hairdo.

Turner, 82, declared in a release that she was delighted to welcome Barbie into the group of groundbreaking women already portrayed and to expose more children to her journey.

The eight-time Grammy nominee had tremendous success in the late 1960s and early 1970s when she collaborated with her ex-husband Ike Turner, but their tumultuous marriage ended in divorce in 1978.

Turner attended the Broadway premiere of The Tina Turner Musical, which details her life and career, in early November 2019.

After her final tour, which concluded in 2009, she decided to stop performing.

Turner, a Tennessee native, went to Switzerland in 1995 to live with her German record producer partner Erwin Bach. Turner later married Bach in 2013 and became a citizen in April of the same year.

The doll includes the black little dress, denim jacket, sheer black tights, and black shoes that the “Queen of Rock N Roll” donned in the music video as addition to her distinctive volumized hairstyle that she sported during the 1980s when she rebranded herself as a solo act.

The doll’s creator revealed some of the steps involved in giving it the singer’s well-known appearance from her prime.

Designer Bill Greening explained the process of making the doll: “We utilised a lot of screenshots to observe the hair at different angles. There was a lot of teasing and hairspray used.

Mattel gave an explanation of why Turner was “absolutely the perfect” hero to celebrate in their Music Series when revealing the doll on Instagram on Wednesday.
